There are 3 main takeaways from San Diego EDC’s Covid-19 survey: 1) revenue declines and staff reduction confirmed, 2) minority owned businesses hit hardest, and 3) remote working likely to stay.

Impact
Throughout the month of July our friends at reVessel are working with six responsible restaurants to deliver 300 Waste-Free Meals to those in need and model a new template for plastic wast eduction in the food system.
With as little as a $25 donation, they will deliver a meal to frontline professionals in need while supporting recovery of San Diego economy and environment. Recipients will keep an endlessly reusable and safe reVessel contain (over $48 combined value) for future meals. Learn more here.
Last month, 50 global leaders signed a letter pledging to “build back better” with the circular economy as the foundation of post-pandemic sustainable development. Eliminating plastics where possible is top of this list, especially as Covid-19 has led to a surge in plastic use and pollution. Furthermore, the sites at which landfill, incineration, and recycling processes occur are frequently located in or near communities of color which can lead to even more health disparities.
