Have you heard of the fast food restaurant called, The Organic Coup? Probably not, but that will likely change soon. Two former long-time Costco employees started their new venture to change the fast food industry and things are moving quickly. Costco Founder and their current CFO helped lead the way in their initial round of finaicing to raise $7 million to support their growth. Best part, they are modeling their business practices after Costco’s efficiency and best employee practices.
Starbucks announced recently that within 5 years they plan to donate all of their unsold food here in the U.S. Currently, they are piloting this process in San Diego. They are finding, as many before have, that donating food is not as easy as it seems. But they are making strides in meeting their goal of providing 50 million free meals by 2021.
