In the news
Gitanjali Rao, 11 years old, takes home US Young Scientist top honors. Rao was inspired by the Flint Michigan water incident. She invented a device that can simply and cost affectively determine if lead is present or not in water. Something that is currently laborious and expensive to do. Her future hopes are to continue to develop the device so she can take it to market and help everyday people know if their water is safe or not. A true conscious leader in the making, if not already.
Impact
Dr. Pedram Shojai, Founder of well.org, is sharing his newest film project, Prosperity, with the world. It takes a look at the state of our world today and provides actionable steps to help make it the world we want it to be. Through his research and discovery, he believes conscious capitalism has a huge role to play in leading this charge.
Informative Read/View
Brene Brown’s, Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone.
She says it best: “True belonging requires us to believe in and belong to ourselves so fully that we can find sacredness both in being a part of something and in standing alone when necessary. But in a culture that’s rife with perfectionism and pleasing, and with the erosion of civility, it’s easy to stay quiet, hide in our ideological bunkers, or fit in rather than show up as our true selves and brave the wilderness of uncertainty and criticism. But true belonging is not something we negotiate or accomplish with others; it’s a daily practice that demands integrity and authenticity. It’s a personal commitment that we carry in our hearts.”
